Intermediates of 18-methylnorethisterone and trimethyl norethisterone.
Method 1
Using 3-methoxy-18-methyl-1,3,5 (10) and 8-estradiol tetraene-17 ketone, the product was prepared by successively reducing with potassium borohydride and lithium ammonia to produce 3-methoxy-18-methyl2,5 (10) estradiol 17-ol, and then oxidizing with cyclohexanone isopropanol aluminum (Wobbell oxidation).
